Crescent Textile Solutions has teamed up with a local yarn shop, Intertwined, to create an initiative called Wool Reach. While Crescent provides some of the yarn, Intertwined provides the space for Wool Reach members to gather and knit or crochet items for the community. In just one year, Wool Reach has donated more than 35 blankets, 65 scarves, and 70 hats and mittens, providing much-needed warm items to those in need.
During the Spring, members of the Wool Reach group and other local artisans produce custom yarn wraps for the light posts in downtown Two Rivers, an event known as a “Yarn Bomb”. Their beautiful yarn creations are installed in June, and remain throughout the summer. This popular activity began in 2023 and is a favorite way to brighten the streets and encourage art in the community, much to the delight of local residents and visitors alike.
Throughout the year, employees of Crescent Textile Solutions gather food and supplies for donation to the area Black Basket Campaign. Sponsored by the Two Rivers Business Association, the mission of the Black Basket Campaign is to assist local students who are unhoused or experiencing economic hardship. Crescent employees have rallied to support this very worthy cause.
